About Open Hands
Our story
The Open Hands Group started off as a communications and Web development company in 1995. We specialized in providing full-service solutions for our clients’ communications planning, Web site development and document production needs. At the time it was a little unusual to combine technical development and content creation under one roof. It was also hard to find a company that could simultaneously produce both a print-ready document and a Web version without using external resources.
Times and technologies have changed. Now it’s easy for individuals to self-publish on the Web, many design shops and print shops also offer web development services, and most large organizations have taken their Web-based communications in-house. One thing that hasn’t changed is the need for solid communications planning and high-quality content—areas where Open Hands excels.
Another thing that hasn’t changed is the need for excellent consulting services to help people successfully navigate the continuous sea-change of technology. Open Hands services have evolved from our initial focus on site development to our current specialization in providing strategic analysis and advice—helping our clients anticipate and manage their response to the next wave of communications technology.
