Where did we get the name?

‘Open Hands’ became our company’s name in 1995. The concept came from an award-winning academic project done by Scott Clarke and colleagues: designing a finger spelling tutor that could model the sign language alphabet in 3D—and work on a 286 processor. But ‘Screaming Fingers’ didn’t project the image we had in mind, so Teresa LeGrand came up with Open Hands.

We like to think our name conjures up an image of a group of people who are open to your ideas and will take care of your project to the best of our abilities.
